Willow Grimes is the only woman on the maintenance crew at the Rocky Bottom Power Plant. She is equally skilled at maintaining the equipment and intimidating the men.
Ford Fisher works with Willow Grimes in the maintenance department at Rocky Bottom. Ford is easy-going, cautious and reflective. He prefers to go with the flow, while Willow always wants to control the faucet.
Oliver Greene is a maintenance supervisor at Rocky Bottom. He has no managerial or leadership abilities. He tries to be a good leader. He reads the books, takes the classes and toes the line. But try as he might, he can't convince anyone to take him seriously.
Elwood Throttleman is an equipment operator at Rocky Bottom. Operators are at the top of the workforce food chain, but Willow never got the memo. Because of their mutual need for control, Willow and Elwood are natural antagonists locked in an ongoing power struggle.
Clay Grimes is Willow's long-suffering husband. He has no steady job, which allows time for more important things like playing sports and planning his next big career move. He is devoted to Willow and takes care of household chores, but his inability to commit to a career path is a constant source of friction between them.
