“Our culture is rich with the legacies of comic strips. From Popeye’s spinach, to Li’l Abner’s Sadie Hawkins Day, to Dagwood’s sandwich, to security blankets, anxiety closets, and the Great Pumpkin, much of how we think and talk about life today has its roots in the humble comic strip.”

Welcome!

Nuts & Bolts Cartoons is the home of outsized comic characters who reflect our deepest selves in their day-to-day activities and misadventures. None of the characters are perfect, and indeed their long lists of faults tend to make them most endearing. They are the creation of Jim Caulk, a Kennesaw, Ga.-based cartoonist who has published in the National Enquirer, Saturday Evening Post and American Legion magazines, and various newspapers and trade publications. Welcome to this website, and we hope you enjoy the opportunity to become acquainted with Caulk's work.
